Blackwing Volume223 is a tribute to Woody Guthrie and his immutable optimism.

While out on the road, Woody would often send postcards to his loved ones back home.He added doodles and captionsto the images onthese postcards; personal touches to remind them of his presence.

In honor of this,Blackwing created3 unique Woody Guthrie postcards featuringimages from the Guthrie family’s collection: a photo of Guthrie with his iconic guitar by Al Aumuller, the handwritten lyrics from “This Land is Your Land” from Woody’s personal notebook, and a self-portrait painting.
