There are gold plated bands between theaqua and ivory acrylic and one band below the barrel threads.

The cap has a large gold plated band near the lip and two narrow bands above the gold plated clip.

The barrel has a metal liner giving the pen a comfortable weight of .7oz without the cap and 1.2oz with the cap.
